Anthony Seigler lastly made his MLB debut on Wednesday — and while it came in New York, the former first-round choose of the Yankees was in Queens, taking part in with the Milwaukee Brewers.
“It’s been a long time, but being here now, it’s everything I can dream of,” Seigler said before beginning at third base and going hitless in three at-bats for Milwaukee in a 7-2 win in the first recreation of a break up doubleheader at Citi Field. “There were some rough patches, but that’s how life is. You keep on going, day by day, and put in the work.”
The 26-year-old Seigler, who had his first massive league hit in the second recreation in a 1-for-3 evening in the Mets’ 7-3 win, was chosen twenty third total out of Cartersville HS in Cartersville, Georgia in 2018.
It was the 12 months after the Yankees picked Clarke Schmidt in the first spherical and a 12 months prior to drafting Anthony Volpe with their first choose.
