Mayor Zohran Mamdani is “keeping the faith” as his hometown Mets are dealing with a historic dropping streak — with many followers pointing the finger at “Mayor Mambino” for cursing the team with a Mr. Mets hug.
“There’s a lot of baseball to be played,” Hizzoner said at an unrelated press convention on Tuesday. “I’m still keeping the faith as I know that many Mets fan are across the city.”
“I will accept being address as Mayor Mambino for the day,” he joked, referring to The New York Post’s entrance web page on Tuesday.

The Mets dropped 11 straight on Sunday, marking the longest dropping streak in team historical past.
Mamdani infamously hugged the team’s mascot on April 9, and since, the Mets have lost 10 consecutive video games.
Pressed on if he will do anything to assist out the floundering squad, Mamdani said he will hold sporting his Mets hat.
“I’m going to send all the best wishes to the team,” he added.
