We are inching nearer and nearer to the most optimistic time of the basketball calendar: NBA Media Day.

Once we hear quotes like “best shape of my life” or “take the process one day at a time,” we know actual basketball is just around the nook.

This season, the Knicks will head to coaching camp even sooner than most of the league as they gear up for a journey to Abu Dhabi, which means we’ll be listening to these quotes as early as this week. So, in the spirit of the return to grind of the NBA season, let’s take a look at the Knicks from a betting perspective and see what futures bets are value making.

The discuss around the Knicks for most of the offseason has centered around new head coach Mike Brown and how he can enhance a team that fell just quick of an NBA Finals look.

The Knicks completed third in the East last season with 51 wins, but 10 video games behind the Celtics and 13 behind the Cavaliers. Those also occurred to be the two groups the Knicks couldn’t beat all common season.

Most sportsbooks have the Knicks sitting between 52.5 and 53.5 wins for the season.

That means that they would want to win just three more video games to get over their highest quantity in a convention that got weaker.

They shouldn’t have to fear about the Celtics this season. Boston lost Jayson Tatum to an Achilles harm, and three other core gamers — Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday, and Al Horford — were victims of the second apron. The nearly NBA champion Pacers probably won’t have the same verve with out Tyrese Haliburton, who will also miss the season with an Achilles harm.

That leaves the Cavaliers (56.5 win whole) and Magic (51.5 win whole) as the two groups in the Eastern Conference with expectations as excessive or increased than the Knicks coming into the season.

There are some key elements that profit the Knicks this season.

They have feasted on dangerous groups over the previous three campaigns, including posting a 32-8 report against groups under .500 last season. Going .500 in all their other video games would have put the Knicks at 53 wins and a profitable report would have them at 54 wins.

Easier said than carried out, of course, but in a convention that is out of the blue weaker at the high, the Knicks merely have to be a barely higher model than last 12 months’s team, and they can clear their win whole.

One could argue they are considerably higher with the gamers they signed in free company and Mitchell Robinson (knock on wooden) beginning the season wholesome.

Betting on the NBA?

The Knicks’ disjointed teaching search deservedly grabbed all the headlines over the summer season and Brown will have to show he can be more efficient than Tom Thibodeau at using his complete bench during the common season. But the finest elements of this team are all back.

I think this quantity is just too low contemplating the ceiling we saw from the Knicks during the postseason. I’ll back the ‘Bockers to hit the over this season at 53.5.

THE PLAY: Knicks Over 53.5 (-105, Fanatics)
