Mia Goth and Shia LaBeouf have had an on-and-off relationship for years, and now, it appears they’ve split for good. Mia filed for divorce from Shia in October 2026 and confirmed that they’d been estranged for over one year. So, why exactly did they break up? What was the final nail in the coffin for the pair?

Why Are Mia Goth & Shia LaBeouf Getting a Divorce?
In her latest divorce filing, Mia cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind her and Shia’s split, according to court documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly.
The couple had an up-and-down relationship for years. In fact, they were headed for a divorce back in 2018. In September of that year, the Holes actor was seen leaving FKA twigs‘ home in London, and a rep for Shia confirmed to People that he and Mia were divorcing.
“Shia and Mia have filed for divorce,” the rep told the outlet at the time. “The separation is amicable and all details pertaining to the divorce proceedings will remain private.”
Shia and FKA Twigs went on to have a tumultuous relationship that lasted about a year. She filed a lawsuit against Shia in 2020, alleging sexual assault, battery and emotional distress. They settled the case out of court in July 2025 and released a joint statement, which read, “Committed to forging a constructive path forward, we have agreed to settle our case out of court. While the details of the settlement will remain private, we wish each other personal happiness, professional success and peace in the future.”

When Did Shia LaBeouf & Mia Goth Split?
Evidently, Shia and Mia’s breakup was a long time coming. As previously noted, the first time Shia and Mia split was in 2018. At the time, a rep for the Transformers actor said it was an “amicable” separation. After Shia’s breakup from Margaret Qualley in 2021, he reconciled with Mia by 2022. In February of that year, Mia was pregnant with their child.
During a late 2022 interview with Jon Bernthal on the latter’s “REAL ONES” podcast, Shia recalled being estranged from Mia for years, yet she still gave him a call while he was in a Utah rehab center. He then broke down in tears and credited the X actress with saving his “f**king life.”
“She was present for me at a time when I didn’t deserve to have nobody in my life, especially her,” Shia said.
However, Shia and Mia separated less than three years later. Mia listed their date of separation as July 2025 in her October 2026 divorcing filing.
Do Shia LaBeouf & Mia Goth Have Kids?
Yes. Shia and Mia share their daughter, Isabel, of whom the Frankenstein actress is seeking primary legal and physical custody in her divorce petition. She also requested visitation rights for Shia and asked the court to deny either party spousal support, according to the Associated Press.
