Susan Dell appeared alongside her husband, Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell, and Donald Trump at the White House on October 7, 2026, to encourage families to register for Trump Accounts, the children’s investment program. The couple previously committed $6.25 billion to support accounts for 25 million children. Her appearance also drew widespread attention on social media.

Susan is a former fashion entrepreneur, mother of four, and co-founder of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. Below, learn more about her background, marriage, and involvement in the program.

She Is Married to Dell Technologies Founder Michael Dell

Susan and Michael Dell met on a blind date in Austin in February 1988, when they were both working in the city. According to their official website, an early date included a bike ride that Susan considered easy but Michael found more challenging.

They married in October 1989 in a ceremony honoring their Jewish traditions. Michael had founded his computer company five years earlier, in 1984, while attending the University of Texas at Austin.

She Is a Mother of Four

Susan and Michael share four children: Alexa, Zachary, Juliette, and Kira. The couple raised their family in Austin, where they have lived for many years.

Susan also serves as a life trustee of the Dell Children’s Foundation board. Her family’s health-care donations have supported Dell Children’s Medical Center, Dell Seton Medical Center, and Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin.

She Co-Founded the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation

Susan and Michael established the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation in 1999. She serves as its board chair and helps direct its priorities. Its work includes education, college scholarships, employment, financial services, and health-care projects in the United States, India, Africa, and Israel.

“We believe giving is the most important thing we will do in our lives,” Susan says on the couple’s official website.

Their charitable work includes helping establish the $100 million Rebuild Texas Fund after Hurricane Harvey and supporting Dell Children’s Medical Center and Dell Medical School in Austin. Separately, Susan and Michael announced a $6.25 billion commitment in December 2025 to fund $250 deposits into investment accounts for 25 million children. Their announcement described the money as coming through their charitable funds. The contribution is distinct from the federal government’s $1,000 deposits for qualifying newborns under the Trump Accounts program.
