Ed Kelce has divulged all the juicy particulars from his son Travis Kelce’s magical proposal to Taylor Swift.
The couple, who have been relationship since the summer season of 2023, delighted followers around the globe Tuesday with news of their engagement.
And the Kansas City Chiefs tight finish’s dad has since revealed particulars from his first cellphone call with his son, who had called him shortly after popping the all-important query to the 14-time Grammy winner.

“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ … they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Ed, 74, instructed native outlet ABC 5 Cleveland.
The proud father said Travis and the “August” hitmaker, both 35, got engaged two weeks in the past, with eagle-eyed web sleuths claiming Kelce proposed hours after their “New Heights” podcast taping.
On the day of the proposal, Ed said he was at a Philadelphia Eagles observe — where his eldest son, Jason Kelce, performed for 12 seasons before retiring in 2024.
“I was at … an Eagles practice, a public practice that they had a lot of people that, well, the Eagles had 60,000 people at a public practice two weeks ago on a Sunday night,” Ed instructed the outlet.
Ed then recalled receiving a FaceTime call from Travis.

“So at that practice … I got a FaceTime call from them, and as soon as I saw the FaceTime, I saw it was Travis, and then I saw Taylor there with him, I knew what they were going to say, and they, you know, let us know,” he said.
“They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.”
The father of two couldn’t assist but gush over the 3-time Super Bowl champ’s love story with the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker.
“They’re just two young people very much in love, cast in a spotlight that they really haven’t sought but kind of followed with their success in their respective fields,” Ed added.
Elsewhere, Ed revealed that Swift had began to get “antsy” over the proposal.

“He was going to put it off till this week,” Ed instructed the outlet. “I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event.”
“And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you,” he added.
