Rory McIlroy left President Donald Trump lots impressed with his second straight Masters win.

Trump took time to congratulate McIlroy on Truth Social after the Northern Irishman’s dramatic one-stroke win at Augusta on Sunday.  

“Congratulations to Rory McIlroy on another Great Championship, The Masters!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He performed tremendously under intense pressure, something which few people would be able to even think about doing. With each year, Rory is becoming more and more a LEGEND! I look forward to watching him compete in two weeks at Doral. The quality of Professional Golfers today has become extraordinary, each and every one of them. They should all be proud of the way they played at The Masters this weekend! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

McIlroy, who completed at 11-under par, held off a final-round cost from Scottie Scheffler to become just the third particular person to efficiently defend their Masters championship, becoming a member of Jack Nicholas, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods, who was the last to do it in 2002.

McIlroy shared a kiss with his spouse Erica Stoll and an emotional second with his daughter Poppy and his mother and father when it was over.

The Cadillac Championship is set to be held at Trump National Doral in Miami starting April 30, in which McIlroy is expected to play.

The Masters wasn’t the only sporting occasion Trump, an avid golfer, was in this weekend. The Commander-in-Chief made an look at UFC 327 in Miami’s Kaseya Center just after 9 p.m. on Saturday. 

He arrived with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, UFC CEO Dana White and his daughter, Tiffany Trump and took in the relaxation of the fights.
