Jerry Jones was nonchalant on Saturday in his first feedback since Micah Parsons’ bombshell commerce request.
“I would say to our fans, don’t lose any sleep over this,” the Cowboys’ proprietor advised reporters. “… We’re in good shape. This is negotiation.”
Jones, who gave his facet of the story after Parsons dropped a lengthy assertion Friday asking to be traded and saying Jones hadn’t concerned his agent in negotiations, said he isn’t contemplating shifting the star defensive finish.
Of the deal that was, apparently, mentioned with Parsons (and not his illustration) in March, Jones also said, “Micah took it off the table.”

It’s troublesome to inform how the scenario will be resolved given how uncommon it is for issues to play out in so public a method with a contract dispute.
In Parsons’ telling, he and Jones met in March for a dialogue about management that turned into a dialog about his upcoming extension. Parsons assumed it was not a formal negotiation and said he advised Jones his agent would attain out. The Cowboys, evidently, assumed they had gotten a deal finished straight with Parsons and did not need the agent concerned.
“When my agent reached out and spoke to Adam [Prafiska, the Cowboys’ director of salary cap and player contracts], he was told the deal was pretty much already done,” Parsons wrote in his assertion. My agent of course advised him that wasn’t the case and also reached out to Stephen Jones. Again the team determined to go silent.

“At that point we decided we would allow the team to reach out to us whenever they decided they wanted to talk. Yet still not a call, email or text to my agent about starting a negotiation.”
The Cowboys can maintain Parsons’ rights through 2028 via the franchise tag, but this is the last yr of his rookie contract.
Parsons is at coaching camp but is going through a hold-in. Citing back tightness, he participated in the first observe, but that was it. He has reportedly not been receiving therapy, but has been in conferences, working out and attending observe.
