Susan Dell has become one of the most searched names in America this week! The philanthropist stood beside President Donald Trump at the White House to urge parents to claim their children’s Trump Accounts, and the clip spread across social media within hours. Much of the chatter centered on her appearance, but plenty of viewers simply wanted to know more about the woman in the red dress standing next to her billionaire husband, Michael Dell.

Get the answer to the question everyone is asking, plus a look at the life she built long before the internet started talking.

How Old Is Susan Dell?

Susan is 62 years old. She has spent more than half of her life married to Michael, the founder and CEO of Dell Technologies, and the couple will celebrate their 37th wedding anniversary on October 28, 2026.

What Did Susan Dell Do Before She Married Michael Dell?

Susan was building a career in commercial real estate when she moved to Austin, Texas, to work for developer Trammell Crow. A client set her up with Michael in 1988, and the pair hit it off over lunch. She later looked back on that first impression in a 2000 interview with Texas Monthly, as quoted by Hello!.

“He was the nicest guy I’d ever met.”

Michael proposed the following spring, and the two married on October 28, 1989. They went on to raise four children, Kira Dell, Alexa Dell, Juliette Dell and Zachary Dell, in Austin.

Away from the office, Susan pushed herself as an athlete. According to her bio on the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation website, she competed in elite marathons, triathlons and the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. She also served on President George W. Bush’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

Was Susan Dell a Fashion Designer?

“Yes,” and her designs once made it to an inaugural ball. Susan founded three fashion labels, starting with a namesake line before she launched the luxury brand Phi in 2003. Phi closed in January 2010.

In January 2001, she designed the gowns that twins Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager wore to celebrate their father’s first inauguration. She explained her approach to CNN at the time.

“I was inspired by the girls to do these dresses as they are.”

Why Did Susan Dell Go Viral?

Susan’s White House appearance put her front and center in a national conversation. She and Michael pledged $6.25 billion to the Trump Accounts program in December 2025, and on October 7, 2026, they promised to deposit $250 into the accounts of 25 million children. Susan spoke directly to families during the event, according to IBTimes.

“So parents and grandparents, please claim your child’s account.”

The moment quickly turned into a debate about her looks, with social media users speculating about her health and possible cosmetic procedures. Susan has not publicly addressed the comments. Her focus remains on the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, which she co-founded in 1999 and still chairs.
