It’s almost time to clock back into another shift at “The Pitt.”

HBO Max‘s breakout medical drama is returning for Season 2 tonight, Jan. 8, exactly one year after Season 1 premiered. Like the first season, this new 15-episode installment will follow the emergency department staff throughout one 15-hour shift, with each episode covering roughly one hour of the shift.

Season 2 of “The Pitt” is set over Fourth of July Weekend, roughly 10 months after the harrowing day depicted in Season 1. Dr. Langdon’s (Patrick Ball) first day back in the ER after seeking counseling and rehab for a prescription painkiller addiction will overlap with Dr. Robby’s (“ER” star Noah Wyle) last before a three-month sabbatical.
