The Yankees have 4 vital areas of want:
1. Multiple bullpen slots. Brent Headrick is at present their only wholesome, commonly used 2026 reliever under team management.
2. Righty-hitting catcher. They never adequately addressed this in 2026.
3. Righty-hitting heart fielder with a robust glove. Cody Bellinger and Spencer Jones are both lefty-hitting choices. Neither is supreme. It would be more tolerable with a righty complement who can defend.
