Greenlaw’s relationship with Payton began nicely, when he signed a three-year, $35 million deal with Denver in March 2025.
But it deteriorated after Greenlaw was pissed off with how Payton and the relaxation of the Broncos’ group dealt with his function upon returning from an harm that stored him sidelined for half of last season.
Denver elected to launch Greenlaw after the season ended, which opened the door for him to return to San Francisco, where he spent the first six seasons of his NFL profession.

The love doesn’t appear mutual with Greenlaw. And he’s only going to be more pissed off, now that this complete scenario has price him almost $12,000.
