Like much of the soccer world, the Commanders’ radio sales space was disgusted by the ending of their Week 5 matchup with the Giants on Sunday.

Bram Weinstein and London Fletcher angrily voiced their displeasure with the Commanders operating out the clock in time beyond regulation to finish the recreation in a 27-27 tie, seemingly mistakenly believing a time out would be called when there were none left.

“You gotta be kidding me,” Fletcher muttered as gamers and coaches reacted to the gaffe on area.

“That’s not how you execute…that’s brutal,” he continued. “That’s on us.”

The pair went on to clarify what Washington should have executed in the moments main up to the blunder.

“You gotta communicate to Jayden [Daniels], if he doesn’t have an opportunity to not have an open receiver right away, you gotta throw that football away,” Fletcher said.

The sales space chalked the scenario up to a “lack of communication, lack of understanding of the situation,” leaving them in disbelief and questioning why the team didn’t call on kicker Drew Stevens to try a area aim earlier from the Giants’ 24.

The calamity brought on Washington to fall to 1-3-1, while the Giants went to 3-1-1 and still stay undefeated in divisional matchups.

Postgame, head coach Dan Quinn took duty for the embarrassing ending.

“The sequencing of that does not fall on [Daniels],” Quinn said. “It’s an outside throw or a clock – an out of bounds throw, or a clock. That has to come from me. I have to put him in that spot. I can do that earlier and we can finish the kick earlier. We don’t need to gain more yards.”
