Kayle Osborne made 26 saves for New York. The Sirens, who host Vancouver on Saturday, started their season with a 4-0 win over the Ottawa Charge after ending last in each of the PWHL’s first two seasons.
Mlynkova, with her first PWHL objective, deflected a level shot from Erin Ambrose on the energy play 30 seconds into the second interval for Montreal’s first objective of the season.
