Aaron Glenn made a huge transfer this week, firing defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.
I have been studying some followers’ reactions on X and in our subscriber text-message thread, and I’m to see that some of you are down on Glenn after the transfer because it underscores that he made a mistake when he employed Wilks in January. I really regarded at it positively for Glenn because he acknowledged his error and moved to appropriate it. Many coaches would have been cussed.
The response reminded me how Glenn has a good distance to go still to persuade followers he is the man who can flip this team around. A 3-11 file will do that.
I am not prepared to say Glenn is the man, but I’m also not prepared to say he’s not. I think he still has a lot to show as we wrap up his first 12 months on the job.
