Giannis Antetokounmpo’s days in Milwaukee may be numbered. 

The Bucks star and his agent, Alex Saratsis, have begun speaking with the team about his future with the franchise and “discussing whether his best fit is staying or a move elsewhere,” according to ESPN’s Shams Charania

Charania added that “a resolution is expected in the coming weeks.”

The report suggests that Antetokounmpo, who has performed his complete NBA profession with the Bucks, is severely contemplating leaving Milwaukee after years of commerce rumors around the two-time MVP.

One supply instructed Charania that “‘the writing is on the wall’ on the inevitable outcome for Antetokounmpo unless there is a dramatic turn of events in the Bucks’ season,” which has gone off the rails in current weeks. 

The NBA’s commerce deadline is on Feb. 5, 2026, giving Antetokounmpo and the Bucks nearly precisely two months to determine out a decision.

After beginning out 4-1, the Bucks have lost 12 of their last 17 video games, including eight of their last ten, which would land them outside the Eastern Conference play-in and playoff image if the season ended right this moment.

“Right now, I’m here representing my team, and that’s it. We beat the Knicks. So it doesn’t matter,” he continued. “What issues proper now is we have a recreation in two days … strive to keep locked in and get two in a row.

“But I didn’t read that article. I try to stay away from all the rumors and speculation and trades. It doesn’t concern me one bit. I try to involve myself and I try to help my team win games.”

Antetokounmpo has been his typical MVP-like self this season, averaging 30.6 factors, 10.7 rebounds and 6.4 assists on 64 p.c capturing, although he’s already missed six video games, including 4 straight last month with a groin damage.
