TORONTO — The newest cease on George Lombard’s rise to changing into one of the recreation’s prime prospects?

The All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta.

Lombard will be the Yankees’ consultant at the annual showcase of prospects that kicks off All-Star Game festivities on July 12 at Truist Park.

Lombard, the Yankees’ first-round choose in 2023, is ranked as the Yankees’ No. 1 prospect by most publications while Baseball America has him ranked No. 20 in all of baseball.

Outfielder Spencer Jones, who just got promoted to Triple-A, represented the Yankees at the last two Futures Games, with lefty Brock Selvidge becoming a member of him on the 2024 roster and Clayton Beeter in 2023.

The Yankees will be properly represented in Atlanta, with Aaron Boone managing the American League All-Star team, Aaron Judge already voted in as a starter, Max Fried seemingly to join him and perhaps a few others.
